We will begin the journey to Easter 2015 with a day of repentance and deliberate journey to a deeper understanding of the resurrection. Andrews and Trinity will combine to start this journey together. It will begin with a fire burning outside at Trinity that will last throughout the day. Everyone within the church community, and the community at large, will be invited to stop by the open fire. It will be a place to pray. It will be a place to confess sins and shortcomings on paper, which will be placed in the fire. It will be a place to receive the ashes of the fire, mixed with the spiritual healing of olive oil, and receive the sign of the cross.
In the evening, the fire will be extinguished, and everyone will be invited to a covered dish supper at Andrews, at 6:00 pm. At 7:00 pm, we will enter the sanctuary for worship. It will be a time to confess, and a time to prepare ourselves spiritually for the journey to Easter.
